Court Homes Counts On Eternit
Court Homes specify a certain colour of natural clay roof tiles from Eternit Building Materials to give the developments a corporate look.
It was built over nine months, with Trad UK - a Japanese design and build company that specialises in English houses and gardening - acting as supplier and consultant for the roof tiles.
Mr Hayakawa wanted the home he shares with his wife, daughter and mother to be roofed with British tiles and found Trad UK over the Internet.
Although the company had not used Marley Eternit materials before, it sourced a brochure on the manufacturer's range of natural clay plain tiles from a reception at the British Embassy in Tokyo.

Eternit tiles conserve space in conservation area
Natural clay plain tiles from Eternit Building Materials have helped an exclusive development meet Conservation Area criterion.
Trad UK's president and executive producer Kazuhiko Takahashi specified the 150-year-old single-cambered Hawkins plain tile in Staffordshire Blue colour and some 30,000 were used to roof the house that at 500m2 is exceptionally large compared to the average house in Japan.
Inside is a mix of Western and Japanese styles.
"I chose the Hawkins tiles because I had an impression they had sufficient hardness and quality to bear the Japanese climate which is humid and very warm in the summer but also subject to typhoons and earthquakes," he said.
"In Japan the roofing industry is rather conservative and does not like to use non-Japanese roof tiles in many cases".
"However, for this particular project I decided to use British plain tiles to fulfil the client's strong hope.
I could say this is a rare case." Trad UK, that designs and builds houses in Cotswold, Victorian, Georgian and Queen Anne styles, also imported other British materials such as elevation materials, drainpipes, fencing, weathervane and awnings for the Chiba prefecture project.
Mr Takahashi added: "It seems the house has been drawing local people's attention very well and I heard it had already welcomed some visitors such as local celebrities and experts".
"I have an impression it is highly evaluated in Japan in terms of the size, quality and design.
The client is really satisfied not only by the appearance now but also he is looking forward to seeing the tiles get their mossy effect as a natural process of being exposed to a climate".
