Marley Eternit is bringing a century of fibre cement expertise in roofing and cladding to internal areas with the launch of a high-performance tile backing building board.

Like all of Marley Eternit's fibre cement cladding panels, Tileboard is impervious to water damage, rot, fungi, insect and vermin and is therefore an ideal substrate for interior tiled areas that are likely to be affected by moisture.

Tileboard combines moisture resistance with Class 0 fire performance, excellent impact resistance and dimensional stability.

Easy to handle and work, the boards can be fixed using standard tools to a variety of timber or metal fixing systems.

The panels are simply screw fixed to, for instance, timber battens and then Eterfiller applied to partly fill the bevelled edges and Eterstrip gauze ribbon embedded in the filler to ensure a seamless joint before the tiles are overlaid.

Suitable for the walls and floors of bathrooms and kitchens, shower and changing rooms, basements, sanitary areas, classrooms and swimming pools, the boards are available in three thicknesses and three sizes and can also be used under worktops.

For non-tiled areas other than splash zones, Tileboard can be finished with paint, render or wallpaper or other decorative systems compatible with the board.
