Marley Restores Dewsbury Mill To Its
Former Glory

A Dewsbury Mill has been recently renovated into a luxurious home, retaining its unique rustic charm thanks to Marley Roofing's Dalestone.

When a lady farmer broke into a Dewsbury animal pound to release her stray livestock in 1320 she could not have envisioned that same building would still be standing almost 700 years later Now known as "The Mill Cottages", the structure has been recently renovated into a luxurious home, retaining its unique rustic charm thanks to Marley Roofing's Dalestone

Owner John Barnes specified Dalestone, a single lap stone-effect interlocking slate, to replace the original roof, perfectly recreating the riven surface texture of natural stone slate.

The use of Marley's Dalestone has ensured the building blends seamlessly into the surrounding area by offering all the aesthetic qualities of a completely natural product, whilst providing all the economical and functional benefits associated with a high specification, interlocking slate.

Manufactured from 30% recycled material, Marley's innovative Dalestone uses as little primary raw material as possible, offering an environmentally sound roofing solution.

The first product of its kind to be launched in the UK, Dalestone provides a unique example of how modern technologies can preserve the authentic look and feel of the past and replicate traditional building materials.

Further enhancing its traditional appearance, Dalestone is also available in three authentic shades - Flint, Harvest and Willow, enabling specifiers to blend with the vernacular or create a traditional feel on new developments.

The product is suited to various design requirements and can be complemented by Marley's comprehensive range of ventilation and dry fix systems.

John Barnes, who personally installed the roofing system, commented: "I specified Dalestone because I needed a product that was aesthetically authentic and in keeping with the rustic style of the local area. Request a free brochure from Marley Eternit ...

As I was to do the bulk of the work myself, I also needed something that could be installed easily and that offered a cost-effective roofing system, all of which Marley could supply.".
