Fire safety reform and specification of materials
Fire and safety Richard Price, technical manager of Eurobond, explains why new fire safety reform will change the specification of materials.
Non-combustible means less smoke and less risk
Eurobond composite cladding have a non-combustible Rockwool core and if ever exposed to fire there is little chance of ignition and burning and therefore minimal risk of damaging smoke.
Richard Wigley, Marketing Manager commented on the launch of the CPD: "Our latest research shows that 74% of specifiers are now being asked to detail the environmental impact of any new building design, 33% on a frequent basis, highlighting this as an increasingly important part of the design process".
Eurobond's Environment CPD Seminar focuses on the environmental issues facing the construction industry and provides factual information on the impact that choice of panel system can have.
The seminar explains in some detail the key differences between the panel types available and their effect on the overall carbon footprint of a building.
It is intended that this information will allow architects and key specifiers to make the correct decisions now in order to prepare for possible future legislation.
Delegates will be introduced to the 'Cradle-to-Cradle' concept whereby mineral wool cored steel composite panels can be effectively recycled into raw materials for the production of new panels.
They will also learn how they can select panel and coating systems that will ensure the delivery of buildings with low environmental impact.
The session is offered through the RIBA CPD Providers Network, which means it has been rigorously assessed as being of the highest standard to meet the RIBA CPD requirements and will also earn double-weighted CPD points.
