Euro Air develops fabric ducting product

An EuroAir UK product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Jul 28, 2010

Euro Air has developed and patented a new type of product for fabric ducting - the Air Sox Directional Flow Control Directional Flow Control (DFC) system.

Before this system was available, the only way to ensure that there were no entrainment problems with fabric ducts was to use nozzles pressed into the fabric.

This was a time consuming process and results in nozzle ducts being significantly more expensive than ducts with basic perforations.

The DFC system gives the same performance in terms of entrainment as a nozzle duct, but for the price of a duct with conventional perforations.

The danger of entrainment is that on a system with a typical inlet velocity, the air will not exit the duct perpendicularly; it will follow the direction of the air inside the duct.

This will result in the far end of the room receiving too much supply air, and the inlet side of the room not getting enough.
