Everest Commercial Division is putting the finishing touches to an extensive programme of refurbishment on a building owned by Land Securities Trillium.

Everest Commercial Division, the fenestration and access solutions specialists for the commercial market is putting the finishing touches to an extensive programme of refurbishment on a building owned by Land Securities Trillium (LS Trillium) in the picturesque Lake District town of Kendall.

This three-story building has had all the existing windows replaced over the course of a 6-week detailed schedule programme of works, which was designed to ensure there was no inconvenience for the staff or clients.

To do this, the Everest operations team worked after hours when the centre was closed and at weekends.

"It's quite nice for the staff," says Alex Mirlees, contracts manager for Everest in the region.

"They go home on Friday evening with their floor serviced by tired and out dated old windows and when they come back in on Monday, they've got nice fresh new ones!".

The first stage of the project was the first floor.

Everest had 2 installers on site during the week and 5 at the weekends.

Some of the obstacles they had to surmount included negotiations with the local council regarding the scaffolding arrangements and even the placement of the skips.

"We're well aware of all the legislation involved in public access and obviously health and safety," continues Alex.

"We work together with the local authorities to ensure everything is in line with procedures and advise where necessary as to the practicalities of the work." Everest's attention to such details made the project a total success.

Lynn Reynolds, Business Manager of the centre: "We're extremely satisfied with the work done by Everest".

"It seemed like a daunting project at first but Everest worked with us and kept us informed of when and what was going on so we could organise our IT people to move terminals when necessary".

"There was no inconvenience whatsoever".

"Everest kept the place as clean and tidy as they could and worked with our on-site security when they needed to be here".

LS Trillium is one of the UK's leading providers of property outsourcing solutions.

Everest Commercial has been selected to carry out renovation projects on behalf of LST to a number of contracts that will cover the whole of the UK.

Everest, a name associated for over 35 years with top quality fenestration through their national network, provides services for the LS Trillium locations nation-wide.

Mark Bradley, Trillium's Project Manager is impressed with the operation: "Everything has been fine".

"There were a few little problems that were really out of all our hands and came from the council but Everest saw the problems coming and was able to get them sorted straight away".

"The windows look great; the finish is excellent".

The final word goes to Lynn Reynolds: "It's improved the place no end".

"Its much lighter in the office now, the ventilation is far better and the noise insulation is great".

"The windows look fabulous inside and out and now we've got some nice cills to put our plants on! Everest's manager and team were very easy to get along with".

"I couldn't fault them - I really couldn't.".
