Fakro roof windows for Osborne eco-development

A Fakro GB product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Jul 1, 2009

Fakro's FTP-V roof windows have been used for Osborne Homes new build housing development to achieve 'Code for Sustainable Homes' Level 4.

The project is London Borough of Croydon's first development of its kind in over 19 years, consisting of thirteen eco-homes, built for affordable rent.

Osborne Homes used the FTP-V windows because of the requirement to achieve the Level 4 code.

The windows, which were used on natural slate roofs, provided an overall U-Value of 1.4W/m2K, with Class 4 level of airtightness.

Tenants will benefit not just from the windows' thermal efficiency, but use of wind turbines, solar thermal panels and a rainwater harvesting system.
