Fakro light tunnels bring natural light into homes

A Fakro GB product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Sep 3, 2010

Fakro light tunnels have been used for a Green Apple Built Environment Award winning housing scheme as an example of Fakro's continued specialisation in pitched roofing.

The SLT Light Tunnel has already proved to be a popular and cost effective means of bringing natural daylight to windowless areas.

Denovo Design used 20 SLT550 Light Tunnels for their Gold 'Green Apple International Built Environment Award' winning affordable homes built for Cosmopolitan Housing Association in Aveling Drive, Banks, Southport.

They will bring daylight to the stairs and landing in homes which were praised for their environmental and sustainable features.

Because the overall exterior design was to the existing estate style, the light domes could be positioned unobtrusively in false chimneys.

The awards are organised by The Green Organisation, an independent, non-profit making environment group dedicated to recognising, rewarding and promoting environmental best practice.
