Metallization through the wire arc spray
Faymonville stress new trends: Metallization through the wire arc spray.
Metals have generally the characteristic that they become metallic oxides, under the influence of their environment (air, water) This decomposition process is generally called corrosion

Euromax: perfect in form and function
Euromax, a new stepframe semitrailer in light construction has been developed and the prototype will be presented at the IAA commercial vehicles show in Hanover.
To prevent corrosion and ensure a long life for your trailer, the steel must be sealed from the effects of the environment with a surface sealant.
Today, in the manufacturing of special semi-trailers the traditional process that is generally used, consists of the following steps: blast cleaning and shot blasting, ground and finish paint.
At Faymonville we have always strived to improve our products as far as the surface refinement is concerned.

Aqualine: New Pure Waterjet Cutting Head
Aqualine is a new pure Waterjet Cutting Head for new and existing machines.
As a result, we are about to equip our two production sites in Bullingen (B) and Lentzweiler (L) with a new spray technique: metallization with the wire arc technique.
What exactly does this mean?: During the wire arc spraying, two slender spray additives (in our case, zinc and aluminium in a 85/15 proportion, also called ZinaCOR) are melted in a wire arc and thrown by compressed-air on to the prepared work surface.
There it solidifies and forms little by little a layer.
All Faymonville products can be treated by this process as of May 2006.
Faymonville stress new trends with this new thermal spraying process in the manufacturing of special semi-trailers.
The advantages of wire arc spraying: Thanks to little warming of the components no deformations; Good wash primer for the finish painting which follows; Different layer thicknesses possible; Good choc resistance; Not dependant on the size of the work piece.
Through this process, the work piece is given important and profitable characteristics, which offers the following protection against: tear; corrosion; wear by abrasion - particle erosion - grains rubbing-off.
This can clearly be noted on the following illustrations.
Both motifs had been sprayed during 6000 hours with a saline solution.
Traditional process WITH wire arc spraying For our customers that means in practical terms that in the future, they can have the Faymonville products not only in their traditional special steel construction (QSTE 690 for a reduced tare weight), but they can also order the "MAX" in terms of surface refinement treatment.
We would also like to emphasize that in spite of the steel crisis, the resulting price increases and material shortages, we have not returned to a lesser quality of steel, but continue to manufacture our products using QSTE 690.
All this with the aim to offer our customers a product that has an even better finish, which is obtained thanks to careful manufacturing and modern production installations within our two factories.
