FMB Masterbond becomes largest scheme in
TrustMark
The Federation of Master Builders has become the largest Approved Scheme operator and one of the first trade bodies to receive a TrustMark licence, for its FMB MasterBond scheme members.
The Federation of Master Builders (FMB) has become the largest Approved Scheme operator and one of the first trade bodies to receive a TrustMark licence, for its 3,000 FMB MasterBond scheme members The FMB has played a lead role in the development of the new government backed TrustMark scheme and is the largest scheme so far approved by TrustMark for general builders

FMB MasterBond members represent over 30% of all the individual firms recognised to date by TrustMark.
TrustMark is the new consumer protection initiative developed by industry and consumer organisations for the home repair and improvement sector, licensing a range of traders from builders to electricians and damp proofing contractors to become TrustMark registered firms.
Commenting on the licences awarded this week by Construction Minister Alun Michael MP, the FMB's director general Ian Davis said: "We are pleased to be leading the way in this new scheme and intend to maintain our position as the largest TrustMark approved scheme operator.
"The FMB fully supports the scheme's objectives of enabling the general public to choose reliable traders to carry out improvement and repair work on their homes.
We will now work closely with the other approved scheme operators and the TrustMark team as we prepare to launch to the public in January 2006".
Unveiled to the construction industry in June 2005, TrustMark hopes to have 10,000 firms on board by the end of the year.
