Minister To Address Forest School World

Education Minister Jane Davidson will deliver the keynote address to a conference titled "From Denmark to Duffryn" attended by outdoor education experts at the University of Wales Campus.

The Forest School conference will also hear from specialists from Denmark, who are the world leaders in woodland teaching methods You are invited to send a reporter/photographer to this important event

The conference starts at 10am and Ms Davidson will talk at 10.10am, when she will explain her "keen interest" in this teaching method which is gaining momentum in Wales.

Six Forest Schools have already been set up throughout Wales over the past three years, putting Wales at the forefront of this learning revolution in Britain.

The conference has been organised through a unique partnership between the university, Forestry Commission Wales's Forest Education Initiative (FEI) team, Duffryn Infants School and Scandinavian childrenswear manufacturer Raindrops Outdoor Clothing.

Following the morning conference, there will be an optional visit to a local Forest School to see how children's early learning is being stimulated by regular visits to the natural environment around them.
