Tim Rollinson, Forestry Commission Director-General, today welcomed the appointment of David Chrichton as new Chief Executive of the Confederation of Forestry Industries (ConFor).

Mr Rollinson said: "Forestry has the potential to become one of the lead industries of the 21st Century, but it won't achieve that without strong representation across the UK sector There is much to be done if the opportunities are to be grasped

I believe that ConFor is well placed to do this.

"David Chrichton brings vital experience from the worlds of forestry and enterprise, so he knows his way around the sector as well as the wider business and political environments.

I wish him, and ConFor, every success.

We look forward to strengthening the positive and co-operative relationship that we have.".
