Scotland hosts European Forestry
Conference
Heads of European state forestry organisations visiting Scotland to attend the 8th Conference of European State Forestry Organisations.
It is the first time Scotland has hosted the conference which will include a meeting of the EUSTAFOR Executive (European State Forestry Association - see notes to editors) The three day event is being co-ordinated by Forestry Commission Scotland and is taking place in Dunkeld from 6-8 June

Scientists, foresters and researchers from 18 countries across Europe will meet in Edinburgh and Ae
Delegates representing 18 European countries, will being tackling key topics including sustainability, climate change and renewable energy.
Environment Minister, Michael Russell welcomed the conference saying; "This conference provides an excellent platform for Scotland to highlight the important role Scotland's national forests play in delivering a wide range of benefits that help make the country a wealthier, greener, and healthier place to live and work.
"There is much we can learn from each other and much to be gained from working together to address problems which are common to us, such as climate change and renewable energy development.
I welcome all the conference delegates to Scotland and trust their visit will be informative and productive." Mr Russell will host an evening reception in Stirling Castle (6 June) for the conference delegates.
Conference delegates will also make an educational visit to Queen Elizabeth Forest Park, Aberfoyle on Thursday 7 June to examine how the Commission is carefully managing the forest to achieve social, environmental and economic benefits.
