Forestry and biomass growers are to benefit from a new woodland creation scheme aimed specifically to help tackle climate change.

Environment Minister Michael Russell announce details of the new funding scheme during a visit to a woodfuel project being developed by Caithness Heat and Power at Pulteney Distillery in Wick The Environment Minister will a tour of a woodfuel project located at the distillery - he will be available for photographs during the visit

The Minister's visit to Pulteney Distillery is part of his summer 'listening tour' to the area which will help inform decisions on forthcoming priorities and policy information.

During his visit to the distillery the Minister will meet with key officials from Forestry Commission Scotland, Caithness Heat and Power, and others involved with the innovative woodfuel project.
