Talk To The Trees - The Regional Woodland Strategy
The Regional Woodland Strategy for the East of England is published in draft form and is available now for consultation.
A key focus of the publication is attention to the overall sustainability of a site's regeneration, including inclusive accessible use, sustainable establishment of vegetation, and environmental protection and enhancement.
It explains that brownfield sites are exemplified by site variability, soil infertility and hazards, and that an important objective of site evaluation is to identify and quantify potential risks and liabilities, such as contamination, which might be present.
Examples of the opportunities to progress efficiently through site evaluation to greenspace establishment are presented.
The publication will be invaluable reading for anyone involved in the development, management or acquisition of brownfield land.
