Step by step, the compliance planner explains the regulations as they apply to the carriage of gas oil and diesel fuel in jerry-cans, drums, bowsers, and tankers.
The three associations have found that there is still a widespread belief that these regulations have been delayed or postponed.
John Hix, General Manager of FTA's Dangerous Goods Consultancy Service commented, 'This is simply not the case, the regulations are now in force, but what we have won are important concessions allowing the continued use of certain types of bowsers and breathing space to give us time to get drivers through ADR driver training courses.
There is also a 1,000 litre threshold for drums and some bowsers, up to which the full operational provisions do not apply.' The compliance planner is in A2 wall chart format and is available free of charge to members.
