The number of light vans on the roads in the UK has increased by 16 per cent over the last twelve months as, among other things, the demand for home deliveries and internet based shopping has boomed.
The course is aimed at middle managers in transport who want to develop their skills and reach senior level.
There are no specific entry requirements but candidates are likely to have a CPC, a Certificate in Management or several years' experience at supervisory or management level.
One attraction of the course is that fellow students will also work in transport, so case studies and course material will be relevant to the industry.
It will be offered on a residential basis in the Kent area in four separate weekly blocks.
FTA has just published its latest training prospectus.
Areas covered include CPC, dangerous goods training, compliance, digital tachographs and driver and mechanical handling training.
There is a course in presentational skills, an introduction to health and safety in the workplace, a risk assessment course, fire safety awareness and a 'train the trainer' course.
