Finnforest launch professional timber frame system to provide specifiers and contractors with time saving solution for garage and carport buildings.

Made from engineered precision cut timber, the system offers the look and nostalgia of a traditional oak style framed building, but benefits from the Beamlock system, an adjustable post support fixing which helps reduce installation time, and therefore cost The new timber frame system is a technically-advanced modular structure available as either a two-bay carport or a garage with cladded walls

There is a choice of 16 models comprising of gable, hipped and barn-end roof designs.

The ingenious but simple optional extension module creates multiple bays if required.

There is even a two-bay model with a ridge height that falls below four metres, removing the need for planning permission in specific circumstances.

This system complies with BS EN 594 (interpreted to BS 5258-6.1) for racking, BS 6399 Pt 2 1997 for wind loading and BS 476-21 fire resistance, and achieves Hazard Class 3 for the preservation treatment of timber.

Having decided on; either a carport or garage, number of bays, roof style and pitch required; the customer then decides the roof tile material.

The timber frame system is available with optional roof battens and cedar shingle roof tiles.

Because roof tiles are largely dependent on the style of existing buildings, which are regional in terms of colour and material, the builder can either specify the cedar shingles as part of the professional timber frame kit, or select an alternative from a local merchant, together with the appropriate roof battens and felt if required.

The whole system is delivered direct to site by Finnforest and is supplied in kit form, with key components pre-cut and treated.

Finally there is even an optional installation service from Finnforest enabling the self-builder or contractor to turn his attentions to other aspects of a development or renovation project.

Once a suitable pad, raft or traditional strip foundation has been laid, the modular timber frame can be erected within 24 hours and the time saving Beamlock adjustable post support fixing enables the builder to change the structure's levels by a maximum tolerance of 60mm, allowing for uneven ground surfaces.

The combined benefits of the new system make this a remarkable timesaving product.

Marcus Sanders, Channel Marketing Manager for Finnforest explains: "The new timber frame system from Finnforest provides the look of a traditional oak style outbuilding and the beauty, as they say, lies in the simplicity of the construction".

"The ingenious post and beam connection system provides a professional installation within a relatively short space of time and the direct delivery alongside the optional Finnforest installation service provides a timesaving and hassle-free solution".

The professional timber frame system is available from selected builders and timber merchants throughout the UK: Travis Perkins and Build Center, South East - Alsford Timber, South West - Payne Timber, Perkins and Perry, Crawley Timber, North - Foreline Estates , Wales - Benfield ATT , East Midlands - B.

Knight and Son, Midlands - Ashchurch, Nicks and Co, JP Corry.
