Flex Connectors' lighting connection and control solutions used throughout Tresham Institute's brand new GBP20 million single campus for Kettering, Northamptonshire.

flex 7 networked occupancy sensors, absence detectors, 4-core modular chains, plugs and leads and connection units were installed in the innovative four-storey winged building, which is designed around a central atrium The company supplied over 3500 individual items of lighting connection and control equipment for the new campus, which welcomes its first students in September 2007

The contractors, Briggs and Forrester, chose Flex Connectors for their extensive standard range and because they were able to supply products which could be specially configured to meet detailed and installation-specific lighting requirements.

Clive Evans, Project Engineer at Briggs and Forrester explained that "the flex 7 lighting connection and controls range gave us everything we needed to meet the client brief, as well as satisfying our own criteria for easy and straightforward installation".

The use of flex 7 absence detectors was particularly important in helping Tresham meet its energy-efficiency targets, whilst accommodating the needs of building users.

The new Kettering campus incorporates facilities for a wide range of full and part time courses, as well as an information and advice centre, multi media library and resource centre, refectory and coffee shop, performance space and indoor sports facilities.
