'The smallest infrared cameras with the widest range of high-end features for low-end prices' is how FLIR Systems' introduced its ThermaCAM E-Series last year.

FLIR announce an innovative accessory for its ThermaCAM E-series, torch-style thermal imaging cameras.
The infrared image instantly shows hot spots, revealing potential problems before they become critical.
Typically the camera will detect equipment overloading or overheating, insulation breakdown or bad connections as well as temperature differences caused by corrosion, leakage and ingress of damp.
The large LCD display eliminates the need for constant use of a viewfinder and maximises safety by allowing users to keep their working environment in view at all times.
Adjustable brightness and a viewing hood ensure optimum image viewing under all indoor and outdoor conditions.
The camera's TV imaging rate of 60Hz allows users to scan moving targets and record subtle temperature changes in real-time.
Advanced IR technology permits users to freeze the infrared image and make in-field non-contact temperature measurements at any one of 19,000 points on a single image over a range from -20§ to +250§C (optionally to 900§C) and with a sensitivity of 0.12§C.
The built-in Laser LocatIRT operates in the same way as a laser pointer to help users associate the IR image displayed with the actual physical target.
This innovative feature also enhances worker safety especially in high voltage electrical environments.
The new ThermaCAM E2 camera not only provides real-time thermal images and measurements, it allows up to 50 images to be stored in the camera in standard JPEG format together with measurement results.
These can be recalled at any time onto the LCD display or downloaded to a PC with FLIR Systems' ThermaCAM Connect software supplied as standard with the camera.
Downloaded thermal images can be easily incorporated into reports created in the users' preferred word processing programs.
A Li-ion battery allows over 1.5 hours of uninterrupted field operation between charges and can be conveniently recharged from either mains or 12V car supply.
Battery operating time can be extended by the camera's power saving features including automatic shutdown and sleep mode.
