FendorHansen has received an enthusiastic response from architects and other specifiers to its recently launched Continuing Professional Development Seminar on security glazing.

HansenGroup member company FendorHansen has received an enthusiastic response from architects and other specifiers to its recently launched CPD (Continuing Professional Development) seminar which deals with the subject of security glazing The manufacturer has built up a reservoir of expertise in the field of high performance glazing systems, including attack resistant glazing, and has now gone 'on the road' to help inform consultants about recent developments

Managing Director Chris Duffy, comments: "We have had a fantastic reaction from people so far.

Architects like to incorporate light and air and vision into their designs, with glass being the ideal material.

Unfortunately when it comes down to security, too often they have had to employ bars, or solid steel; but what we are doing is enabling them to use glass as a pure medium thanks to our latest advancements on interlayer technology and framing systems." Offering one hour's CPD time under the accreditation of the CPD Providers Network, the seminars are mainly being delivered during lunch breaks at the consultants' own offices.

This ensures specifiers are able to keep themselves up to date with the minimum of time loss and travelling.

Amongst the well known practices to have benefited from the FendorHansen seminar so far are WS Atkins, Brady Molyneaux, Seymour Harris and various offices of the Keppie design consultancy, as well as the London Borough of Tower Hamlets.

A further CPD seminar on fire resistant glazing is about to be launched while FendorHansen is also responding to requests from specifiers to prepare a third on the subject of the Disability Discrimination Act and the means of meeting its requirements.

FendorHansen is part of the Anglo-Scandinavian HansenGroup, one of Europe's leading fenestration specialists, with annual sales of £100 million and over 1,000 employees.

HansenGroup's activities extend from structural glazing, curtain walling and windows, fire resisting and steel glazing systems and advanced glass processing to high performance steel doorsets for fire, acoustic, security and cleanroom applications.
