FendorHansenan, acknowledged specialist in the field of high performance glazing systems, has added a seminar dealing with fire resistant glazing to its existing CPD programme.

As an acknowledged specialist in the field of high performance glazing systems, FendorHansen is consistently called upon by construction industry consultants to provide independent and authoritative technical information on performance parameters, as well as details of its own systems The HansenGroup member company has accordingly added a seminar dealing with fire resistant glazing to its existing CPD programme

This means architects and engineers or contractors will now be able to expand their own knowledge of glazing systems with an independently approved presentation, that can be delivered at their own offices.

Managing Director of FendorHansen, Chris Duffy, comments: "We are delighted to be able to announce that the Construction CPD Certification Service has accepted our seminar on Fire Resistant Glazing.

It fits alongside our security seminar and will now be promoted to all in-house CPD managers throughout the industry.

The new presentation, which has been nearly a year in development, will look at current legislation as well as the basic principles behind fire resistant glass and the framing systems which retain it.

The need to specify a system rather than taking an elemental approach is discussed, while practical solutions and examples are put forward." Offering one hour's CPD time under the accreditation of the Construction CPD Certification Service, the seminars are due to be delivered to specifiers in their own offices, as well as at a number of conference venues across the country.

Amongst the well known practices to have benefited from FendorHansen seminars in the past are WS Atkins, Brady Molyneaux, Seymour Harris and various offices of the Keppie design consultancy, as well as the London Borough of Tower Hamlets.

FendorHansen also has a portfolio of projects covering commercial, health and education sectors where fire periods are required in a wide range of applications, complemented by smoke control glazing normally found in retail premises.

FendorHansen is part of the Anglo-Scandinavian HansenGroup, one of Europe's leading fenestration specialists, with annual sales of £100 million and over 1,000 employees.

HansenGroup's activities extend from structural glazing, curtain walling and windows, fire resisting and steel glazing systems and advanced glass processing to high performance steel doorsets for fire, acoustic, security and cleanroom applications.
