Fendor SecureLine security glazing systems chosen for Broadmoor Hospital project.

Working closely with client London Mental Health NHS Trust and Project Architects Oxford Architects Fendor have successfully completed the a new build scheme at Broadmoor Hospital for Main Contractor Costain The design of the windows took into account the acknowledged therapeutic benefit of providing natural ventilation into the living areas by introducing opening vents particularly within the bedroom areas

Integral mini slat Venetian blinds were introduced to provide solar control and privacy.

The circulation areas had large glazed screens of similar design.

Typical assemblies went through destructive tests on site to enable the client to assess the overall strength of the completed windows prior to commencing fabrication.

Fendor used their SecureLine System solution incorporating a sacrificial pane of polycarbonate to enhance the security and hermetically sealed double glazed units to promote the building thermal performance.
