Finning, the UK supplier of Caterpillar equipment, has sealed a deal for two new Cat 770 Off Highway trucks with specialist plant hirer, Chepstow Plant International .
Individuals will help contribute to its ongoing success and the industry as a whole.
Applicants will have the opportunity to work across the company's three key divisions, Construction, Materials Handling and Power Systems and will be required to have at least 3 GCSE's at grade C or above in English and Science and a B in Maths.
Stuart Chapman, Finning (UK), training and development manager, commented: "Central to the success of a business is a team of highly skilled and enthusiastic individuals.
Our apprenticeship scheme provides young people with the opportunity to earn a good income whilst combining full-time study with hands-on training, from industry professionals".
He continued: This is an excellent investment for the future of our company, with our main aim being to channel the innovation, skill and ambition of these young individuals into our key industry sectors, a huge benefit for Finning and the industry as a whole".
This year, the four-year scheme is operating at a number of regional branches including: Cannock, Leeds, and Glasgow.
Individuals will spend 12 weeks in full time study and three weeks a year at the Cannock head office, where they will learn about the latest product developments.
At the end of the trainee scheme students will have a nationally recognised qualification and some excellent first hand experience.
Stuart Chapman, commented: "At Finning we understand the importance of investing in the future, running a scheme that will benefit not only ourselves but the industry as a whole, which is why we have doubled this year's intake for the scheme.".
