UK debut for Cat D9T Dozers

The Walters Group based in South Wales is to premiere the first nine Cat D9T dozers ever to be seen in the UK The new machines are part of a deal with Finning (UK) that will also see eight new Cat 777D, four new Cat 775E off highway trucks, and one Cat 16H Grader predominantly used for the extraction of coal in the South Wales coalfield, and general heavy earthmoving/quarrying contracts throughout the UK

Finning, the UK supplier of Caterpillar equipment, has sealed a deal for two new Cat 770 Off Highway trucks with specialist plant hirer, Chepstow Plant International .
The Walters Group was established in 1982 and today claims to have the largest, most modern and varied fleet of earthmoving equipment in the UK.
Dave Walters, comments; "We currently supply all the plant to the Celtic Energy Opencast Mining Operations which includes three sites that are currently coaling and one due to commence in 2005".
He continued: " A large proportion of our fleet is Cat, and we aim to maintain this fleet share to be able to continue the practical and flexible approach that has become synonymous with our offering".
Robert Powell, strategic account manager at Finning UK, comments; "The Cat D9T is an ideal working machine for this environment, with features such as engines with ACERT Technology that meets EPA Tier 3 and European Union Stage IIIa exhaust emissions regulations, differential steering system which is now standard equipment and an improved operator station.
"In a tough working environment, it is essential that machinery and tools not only meet the requirements of the operator, but exceed them.
Productivity and operator comfort are essential in the day-to-day running of the machine and it is therefore essential that these factors are considered".
The Cat 777D and 775E off highway trucks are built for durability, reliability and productivity and are ideal for working in environments such as the Open Cast Coal Sites and other extractive industries such as Quarrying.
In addition the Cat 16H grader is smooth and responsive and excels in performance and reliability.
The power shift transmission and load sensing hydraulics are design to work in tandem to deliver increased productivity in all applications.
