VersaLink maximises performance and versatility The new 930G Wheel Loader features the proven and popular VersaLink loader linkage which combines Integrated ToolcarrierTM versatility and parallel lift with the speed, forces and strength of the traditional Z-Bar linkages.
The linkage gives the 930G excellent breakout and lift forces, visibility, versatility and stability and it increases bucket fill factors.
The single-piece boom-style lift arm design offers exceptional strength and rigidity.
A high-lift version, which increases dump height by more than 17 percent versus the standard version, is available for high-dump applications.
The optional Quick Coupler allows for quick and easy work tool changes and maximizes performance in a variety of applications, which increases opportunity for machine utilization.
Other available work tools, such as pallet and offset forks, high visibility carriage, material handling arms and hydraulic brooms expand the operation possibilities in multiple applications even further.
In addition, the new hydraulic functions allow the use of more complex tools like snow wings or ploughs, brush cutters, dozer blades or loader rakes.
The 930G Wheel Loader can be configured to support specific market segments such as construction, forestry, agriculture, waste and industrial.
Hydraulics designed for low effort and superior control A load-sensing, variable flow hydraulic system senses work demand and adjusts flow and pressure to match.
It enables full hydraulic forces at any engine speed for delicate jobs in tight areas.
It is designed to provide faster cycle times, with low operator effort and improved fuel efficiency.
The total hydraulic cycle time is 0.8 seconds faster than the IT28G.
An adjustable flow third function hydraulics system optimizes work tool performance.
It provides proportional control of work tools to match power to application speed.
To improve versatility and responsiveness, fourth, fifth, and sixth hydraulic functions are also available.
The latter two functions enable use of a fully adjustable snow blade and wing as well as a variety of other work tools.
Load-sensing steering makes more power available for rimpull, breakout and lift forces with minimum operator effort.
The new 930G is available with a second steering mode which allows a steering wheel movement of a quarter of the traditional amount to achieve the same turn.
This ergonomic mode enables higher productivity and efficiency with less operator fatigue.
Ergonomic operator station.
The 930G features the standard quiet, roomy and well ventilated Caterpillar small wheel loader G-series cab and easy-to-read white-faced gauges to increase operator comfort.
A single, low-effort joystick for lift and tilt functions reduces operator fatigue.
Furthermore, the standard integrated directional control switch and kickdown button on the joystick provides easy operation and enhanced productivity.
The machine features a new programmable transmission neutralizer and autoshift system to suit operator and applications needs.
Dual suspended brake pedals function as a brake and a transmission neutralizer so the operator can maintain high engine rpm for full hydraulic flow and fast cycle times.
The transmission neutralizer can be programmed by the operator within seconds, setting the system to optimum pressure.
The autoshift system enables the operator to choose manual shift or two autoshift modes: the full throttle selection provides maximum acceleration while the variable selection increases fuel economy and improves operator comfort.
According to Finn Hoel from the sawmill company Gran Tre in Norway, currently using the 930G for his daily operations, "the space in the cab and especially the low noise levels with the low sound (Blue Angel) package give a great working environment".
"We can hardly hear the machine operating! The 930G feels strong and stable even with a payload of 5500-6000 kg of logs".
"The machine works really efficiently and lifts the grapple at very low rpm, which reduces significantly the fuel consumption." New also from Caterpillar on the 930G is a factory installed rear view camera system with a color monitor in the cab that allows excellent rear visibility, which increases operator confidence and productivity as well as safety on the job site.
Advanced power train technology.
The new 930G is powered by an electronically controlled Cat 3056E Direct Injection Turbocharged (DIT) engine with Air-to-Air After Cooling.
The engine is rated at 150 net horsepower (112 kilowatts) and has a 37 percent torque rise, which enables increased power during heavy-duty use.
It meets EPA Tier 2 exhaust emission requirements and offers a unique automatic derate feature which protects the hydraulic and transmission system by compensating for altitude and engine overheating.
Low cylinder pressure rise and low peak pressure enhance reliability and durability.
The cooling system and engine are located in separate compartments to minimize sound levels and improve service access.
Cooling is provided by an on-demand hydraulically driven fan that reduces noise and enhances fuel economy.
Improved sealing of the engine doors and fine mesh air-intake screens minimize debris in the cooling cores, extending intervals between cleaning.
A reversing fan option is available for high airborne debris environments.
The 930G wheel loader for European, African and Middle East market is built in Leicester, UK.
