Formpave, a leading manufacturer of standard and specialist concrete block pavers and permeable paving solutions, is hosting a unique event at Civils 2006.

Dr Stephen Coupe, a world renowned expert in the field of Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SUDS) and pollution control, is holding an open workshop on the Formpave stand, where Civils visitors can come along for in depth technical discussion and advice relating to the application and downstream benefits of SUDS technology in urban landscaping projects.

Dr Stephen Coupe, Formpave's SUDS consultant and permeable paving specialist with 8 years research in SUDS, permeable paving, geo-textiles and more specifically pollution control in permeable paving, is available on Wednesday 29th and Thursday 30th for a drop in session on Formpave's stand A21.

Dr Stephen Coupe has carried out extensive research in partnership with Formpave and Coventry University relating to pollution control and geo-textiles.

He is also presenting a number of technical papers at The International Block Paving Conference, San Francisco, based on his extensive research.

(www.icpiconferences.org) Commenting on the workshop, Kate Robinson, director at Formpave, said "Formpave introduced permeable paving to the UK 12 years ago, since then they have been pioneers of research and development of permeable paving systems and continue to lead the way with new innovations to improve their systems".

"Our unique workshop at Civils 2006 is an ideal opportunity to share our technical knowledge and research findings with the industry." On stand A21, Formpave is showcasing its flagship patented Stormwater Source Control System and Aquaflow range of Permeable Paving.

The market leading Aquaflow Permeable Paving and Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SUDS), provides an affordable solution to the challenges of water conservation, recycling and reuse.

The company's patented Aquaflow paving system delivers immediate environmental benefits and financial savings, when compared to traditional drainage.

SUDS is increasingly being used to prevent run-off and flooding, and as a method of collecting and cleaning storm water.

The Formpave Stormwater Source Control System allows rain to infiltrate through a permeable concrete block paved surface into a unique stone sub-base where it is cleaned, by filtration and microbial action, before being released in a controlled manner into sewers or water courses, or infiltrated directly into the sub-grade.

The water can also be harvested and used for non-potable purposes such as watering plants and flushing toilets.

The new 60mm Aquaflow block is also on show, available in the standard Aquaflow colours and finishes, providing a permeable paving solution for domestic use.

Aquaflow is just one of the products being showcased at Civils 2006, other products include the Chartres range, Clifton range and Formpave Granites range.

Visit Formpave on stand A21 for more information on any of their products.
