Forest Pennant launches new walling stone and dressed building stone at External Works Show

Forest Pennant Limited, specialists in natural Pennant stone paving, has recently announced that it is to launch a new range of walling stone to include cropped walling stone and sawn and dressed building stone Both products are finished by hand in the traditional manner and will further extend the Company's natural Pennant stone product lines

Natural Pennant stone from the Royal Forest of Dean is quarried in the traditional and environmentally friendly, plug and feather method, and has been used as a traditional building material in many of the ancient cities within the South of England and Wales for hundreds of years.

Natural Pennant offers a stunning mix of colours with natural patterns throughout the stone, both unique to the stone quarried in the Forest of Dean.

Royal Forest Pennant sawn and dressed building stone is a natural British building product that combines the easy building characteristics of brick with the beauty of natural stone.

The stone is dressed by hand and is available in module thicknesses of 65, 140 and 215mm, giving the specifer and client confidence that on-site installation is both quick and cost effective.

Also new from the Company is their Royal Forest Pennant cropped walling stone.

The shallow bedded block stone is drilled, split and cropped into a random rectangular building stone which is very popular with building contractors.

When using this stone, construction is usually undertaken with a backing block to provide traditional cavity construction.

Walling stone is delivered to customers in one tonne bags (approx 4 sq/m per bag) for ease of storage.

Forest Pennant also produces bespoke architectural building products including window dressings, door surrounds, quoins, copings, corbels, steps and arches, extending its natural stone offerings even further.

Royal Forest Pennant has been chosen as one of the products for the prestigious 'Circle' display at External Works 2007.

This landscaping feature follows the success of the show's 2005 'Square' and provides a design-led centrepiece at the show, displaying cutting edge products and showcasing what's new in the built environment.

Forest Pennant has seen a significant amount of interest in its natural stone and has received a wide range of orders and specifications across residential, commercial, public and retail sectors.

These include St Johns Church at St Davids in Cardiff, Talbot Street at Maesteg near Bridgend and a new Tesco store at Ilminster.

Katherine Robinson, director at Royal Forest Pennant Limited, said, "We are really pleased with the response that Royal Forest Pennant has received so far from the market and we have already supplied a number of really unique and interesting projects".

"Our entry into walling stone is an exciting business opportunity enabling us to extend our range of distinctive natural Pennant stone products for our customers.".
