Over 130 Ferroli domestic boilers will be keeping residents of several major housing associations in Thamesmead, Kent warm as a result of a major new order won by Gee-Bec Services worth over £1m.

Over 130 Ferroli domestic boilers will be keeping residents of several major housing associations in Thamesmead, Kent warm as a result of a major new order won by contractor Gee-Bec Services Limited worth over £1million that included all electrical, plumbing, hot water and heating The installations are for the well-known Hexagon, Tower and Asra housing associations which provide affordable housing developments in areas such as Thamesmead

According to Brian Woodley, MD of Gee-Bec Services Limited, the specialist mechanical and electrical contractor for the development, "Ferroli was the only UK manufacturer able to supply the wide range of boilers we required for a wide range of house sizes from a single source, and this was a key factor in helping us win this major contract." Gee-Bec Services Limited chose Ferroli's Sigma cast-iron boilers for the three storey houses and the Tempra system boilers for flats and smaller two storey houses.

The Sigma range provides a choice of outputs from 11.7 to 29.3 kW and its multi-directional top flue enables the flue outlet to be installed at any angle to the left, right or vertically to solve virtually any site flueing requirement, allowing more freedom to mount boilers in the best location for each house.

The Tempra models are Ferroli s latest generation of system boilers offering a choice of four models covering a wide range of outputs from 7.5 to 30 kW.

These highly efficient, room sealed, rear-fanned models offer significant advantages over more conventional gas-fired domestic boilers.

Believed to be one of the smallest system boilers available today, the Tempra contains within its neat and compact casing many of the key system components and controls normally installed separately from the boiler including the circulating pump, expansion vessel, automatic air vent and air separator.

By including these components within the boiler casing, Ferroli has cleverly created a cost effective boiler that is much easier and quicker to install, significantly reduces the space required for system components, and there's no need for feed or expansion tanks in the loft.

With the flexible flue options offered by Ferroli, they can be installed virtually anywhere in the home - saving space, installation time and money.

"The Sigma and Tempra boilers are especially compact and easy to install.

And with the help of F?rroli's sales support team, we were able to solve tricky flueing problems using their flexible multi-directional flue outlets which allowed us to site the boilers wherever required and still align the external flue vents to achieve an attractive installation - even when using boilers of different sizes in different sized houses," added Brian Woodley of Gee-Bec Services.

Headquartered in Italy, Ferroli is one the world's leading boiler manufacturers with more than two million boilers sold throughout Europe.

Founded in 1957, the company has grown rapidly and today has sales of some 360 million euros (approx £250 million) and employs nearly 2000 people in operations and manufacturing plants around the world.

The company products span the range from small wall or floor standing domestic boilers to large commercial and industrial models up to 12MW, including the latest condensing boilers, as well as radiators, water heaters, heated towel rails etc.
