Extended High-efficiency Condensing Boiler Range

A Ferroli product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Apr 15, 2004

Ferroli's new Optimax high efficiency boilers are designed to deliver optimum performance and maximum efficiency for the domestic market - ideal for both the new-build and replacement market.

These compact new generation boilers provide fully modulating heat outputs from 7.3 to 24.7kW making them ideal for smaller domestic applications such as 1 and 2 bedroom houses and flats.

They follow the recent launch of Ferroli's larger 35 kW Maxima series, giving Ferroli full coverage of the domestic market for high-efficiency boilers.

Optimax boilers are designed to the latest SEDBUK A standards with a high 91% efficiency and low emissions and meet the requirements of the forthcoming government regulations coming into force in 2005.

They are ultra-quiet and available in a choice of system, open vented and combination models allowing installers to meet virtually any application with a single boiler family from a major manufacturer.

Installation and servicing are simple with easy access to all components plus a built-in motorised 3-port valve (on combination models) with an easily removable head.

There's also a built-in condensate trap for fast on-site installation.

In addition, a built-in self-diagnostics display on the front panel clearly shows any fault codes allowing faster servicing and repair.

A major feature is that the boilers operate in high-efficiency condensing mode even when only heating hot water in the summer months, resulting in year round energy savings.

Automatic controls also provide optimum heat output adjustment each time heat is demanded, again improving efficiency and reducing fuel requirements.

The gas/air mix is precisely controlled for maximum combustion efficiency and is fully modulated under automatic fan control for further fuel savings.

A large down-firing ceramic burner also ensures that the boilers are ultra-quiet in operation.

The Combi model produces instant on-demand water for baths and showers etc at a high hot water flow rate of 12 l/min (for 35C temp rise) to meet modern demands.

The Optimax's compact wall-mounting design, flexible fan-flueing and fully room-sealed operation allows the boilers to be installed out-of-sight even in small cupboards etc with no internal air required for combustion.

According to Ferroli, the Optimax range is ideal for both the new-build and replacement market.

The Optimax OV open-vented model is perfect for straight replacement of traditional boilers allowing easy upgrading with no changes to existing plumbing.

The Optimax S system boiler is ideal for the new build as well as the replacement market while the Optimax C combination boiler is superb for instant on-demand hot water.

The new Optimax is part of Ferroli's strategy to offer a complete line-up of high-efficiency boilers giving installers maximum freedom of choice and to meet the forthcoming regulations which become mandatory early in 2005.

The company is also supporting this high efficiency initiative by providing specially tailored courses around the country.

"With the new Optimax and the existing Maxima models, we now have a comprehensive range of high-efficiency condensing boilers to meet the demands of the domestic market," said Jim Moore, MD of Ferroli.

Other optional features include external temperature compensation for optimum operation throughout the year and an integral clock.

Advanced electronic control ensures that optimal heat output is automatically selected every time heat is required.

The boiler comes with a full 5-year guarantee on the stainless steel heat exchanger, and 2 years on the rest of the boiler.

A high quality Grundfoss pump is fitted as standard on relevant models.
