Forum Training, part of Thomas Vale Group is promoting the use of the CITB Mobile Health and Safety Testing Vehicle in an effort to raise standards within the construction industry.

Available for companies to hire through CITB, this touch screen test is used as a means of measuring health and safety competence and forms the basis of the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) CSCS is firmly linked to the Government initiative to drive the cowboys out of the construction industry, whilst raising standards of both workmanship and health and safety

For the first time there is a method of identifying contractors with trained, qualified workforces, through the issue of an ID card.

Forum Training is actively supporting individuals and businesses through the CSCS process by offering help, advice and guidance and additional training, if required, at its training centre in Stourport on Severn, Worcestershire.

With many Local Authorities and other construction clients now insisting all contractors are CSCS trained, it is becoming apparent that construction workers will only be able to work within the industry if they carry a CSCS card and are trained to a minimum of NVQ level 2.

Jayne Sloan, Director, Forum Training, comments: "Here at Forum, we are fully committed to developing workforce skills in order to achieve our wider business aims and objectives and have implemented a training and development programme to ensure our workforce has the most up-to-date skills and comply with health and safety standards.

We whole heartedly support the CSCS and regularly have testing sessions at our Training Centre in Stourport." To find out more contact Forum Training.
