Fondis SA of France, a designer and manufacturer of fireplaces and room-heaters, has recently released LUMIA, a new enclosed glass-fronted wood burner.

LUMIA, whose technical and aesthetic characteristics make it truly unique on the market, appeals to a clientele that enjoys the smell and atmosphere of a real wood fire - with minimum maintenance constraints - and appreciates contemporary design and style LUMIA's clean lines and modern design meet the requirements of today's customers since they are pleasing to the eye

The extra-flat design (only 30cm) makes for easy installation in any room of the house (living-room, bedroom, kitchen, etc).

Available in two colours (white with green reflections or mauve), the decorative rectangular or oval glass front makes it a product that can easily be adapted to the configuration of any house or flat.

Simple to install, LUMIA requires a chimney with a 125-mm section minimum, which needs to be at least one metre high.

It comes equipped with a wall plate for installing the electrical connection and the smoke outlet.

LUMIA provides good visibility of the flames with total ease of use.

A natural or compressed wood fire is easily lit by the simple push of a button.

The hearth is fed from either the left- or the right-hand side.

Once filled up, the fire will burn for four to five hours.

Maintenance is easy and minimal.

LUMIA comes with a built-in ash-box and a self-cleaning, retractable Visioc?ram window.

Among other advantages, the new LUMIA combustion chamber, patented worldwide, achieves exceptional combustion performance (CO< 0.01% to 0.04%).

From 18 November 2004 to 13 February 2005, visitors will be able to see LUMIA at the Cit? des Sciences et de l'Industrie (City of Science and Industry) in Paris.
