Gem of a contract for Fitzpatrick Doors

In essence, the giant 'synchotron' is a series of super microscopes housed in a doughnut-shaped building nearly three quarters of a kilometre in circumference, covering an area of five football pitches.
Main contractor on the project is Costain Fitzpatrick has provided 50 polyester powder-coated steel hinged doorsets and associated ironmongery to the project's building envelope contractor, Lakesmere.
The security doors are installed on the inner and outer circumference of the building.
"We are delighted to be involved in such a prestigious project and worked closely with Lakesmere to produce the custom-made doorsets," says Russell Grove, Sales Director, Fitzpatrick Doors.
"We are currently working on three further door supply contracts with the specialist envelope contractor including ISIS (a sister particle accelerator facility to Diamond Light Source), Southampton Airport and an industrial development project in Bournemouth." Fitzpatrick designs, manufactures and installs a full range of steel hinged doors, roller shutters and security grilles.
All products are custom-made at the company's factory in Birmingham.
Other recent contracts for the firm have included the installation of doors and shutters at the new Wembley Stadium, St Katherine's Dock K2 office development, a UK government ministry HQ building in Westminster, a bank HQ building in Canary Wharf and new dairy production facilities in Leeds.
With offices in Winchester, Warrington and Glasgow, Lakesmere specialises in the design and installation of building envelopes including roofing, walls, glazing and ancillary products.
