Fyfestone has won another major contract to supply Elite Bullnosed for a new Meridian Homes development in Scotland - Meridian's sixth development this year to use Fyfestone.

Fyfestone, an Aggregate Industries plc business, offers a range of reconstructed masonry products made from world famous Aberdeen granite, Cotswold grits and aggregates and is used throughout the UK The contract, to supply Elite Bullnosed for 17 homes at the prestigious new Alexandra Meadows development in Lockerbie, has now been completed and the stone supply was awarded to Fyfestone by the main contractor, The Robison Group, who wanted a very high quality stone to be used in the Meridian Homes they are building

The Robison Group has also used the Bullnosed Fyfestone for its Meridian Homes developments in Coatbridge, Dumfries and Dalbeattie and proposes to use the same for future developments at Castle Douglas and Dunblane.

In total, the Fyfestone Elite Bullnosed will be used in almost 200 homes either already built or under development by Robison.

Fyfestone's Sales Manager, Hamish Learmont believes that Elite Bullnosed has a unique appearance and properties, which set it apart from other products: "One of the features of the sites is that the stonework looks very distinctive and authentic.

It is very rugged and gives the appearance of a hand-dressed stone finish.

"Lots of people have commented on how attractive the stone looks and it is undoubtedly a great selling feature for the homes.

It is a premium product, which is ideal for these prestigious and high profile developments." Derick Reid, the Private Development Director at the Robison group explains why Fyfestone Elite Bullnosed was preferred to other options: "The decision to choose Fyfestone Bullnosed was made by our Chairman, John Hume.

John liked the look of the stone and thought that it would be ideal for the houses that were being developed in prominent, flagship sites such as Coatbridge, Lockerbie, Dumfries and other locations.

"The colour and shape of the Bullnosed walling fits in perfectly with these developments and we have been very impressed by the quality of the product.

I am sure we will use it again in similar projects in the future." Fyfestone Bullnosed also prevents water penetration problems often associated with other types of stone products.

The stone has a 25 N/mm2 compressive strength, which is suitable for most building projects and has a high density thus providing excellent sound insulation properties.

Elite Bullnosed can be used in a variety of situations, including external untreated walls, internal untreated walls, decorative feature walls and faced retaining walls.
