The online ordering service from GAP, the UK's leading independent stockist, is proving to be a huge success The service went live in January, and in two months customers have already placed orders worth GBP170,000

To date, 98 of GAP's customers are using the service.

GAP's online ordering system operates on a live account basis allowing customers to accurately price a job and order the materials they need at the same time.

To the best of its knowledge GAP is the first and only stockist in the UK to offer this facility to customers.

Online account holders benefit from the same service when ordering online as they would if they placed an order in person or on the telephone.

By providing a round the clock service it is more convenient for customers to place an order when they are busy.

Feedback has shown that several orders are being placed at the weekend with the latest order placed at 10.55pm.

GAP's Joint Managing Director Charles Greensmith comments: "We are delighted that so many customers are already taking advantage of our online ordering service".

"Online ordering will grow as customers see the benefits of placing an order via our website".

"All of the orders placed through the website were completed and delivered on time".

"Customers know that GAP helps them complete projects on time, every time".

GAP customer Denbigh Building Plastics is sold on the online service.

Warehouse Manager Arwyn Evans says: "GAP's online ordering service is easy and convenient to use".

"We can keep track of the prices we are paying, what we are ordering and we get a confirmation of our order".

"If a customer comes in late in the day to order an item that we don't have in stock we simply place an online order and have it delivered the next day.".
