GAP has invested more than GBP125,000 in streamlining its door panel factory.

The company has bought a purpose-built Cannon Shelley vacuum forming line as well as cooling and water pumps The vacuum former moulds door panel skins and will increase efficiency and capacity by 33%

GAP currently manufactures 10,000 panels a month.

The new machinery will also enable GAP to manufacture standard and European size door panels, and it can be used by its sister company - leading composite door manufacturer Rockdoor.

GAP's Production Manager John Harrop comments: "This is the first stage of GAP's programme to streamline manufacturing, with GBP300,000 to be invested later in the year to further increase efficiency and capacity".

"Our door panel ranges, Cosmopolitan and Perfection, have been very popular and increasing our capacity means we can keep ahead of customer demand".

"The new machinery will improve the quality of our door panel skins and improve their performance so they last much, much longer and look better too.".
