with operation via large, tactile push button controls.
Michael Dart, said: "Our contractor's architect saw Gartec platform lifts installed in a large shopping mall and was impressed with their look and operation.
So, when selecting lifts for Darts Farm, Gartec were chosen because of their minimal installation needs, good looks, and cost effective pricing".
Kerry Stanton, Gartec's Southern Regional Sales Manager, adds: "Gartec platform lifts provide an ideal solution for disabled access to different levels with the Darts Farm Shopping Village thanks to their flexible design and high build quality.
The lifts are self-contained within their own structures and did not need separate shafts or machine rooms and virtually no building work was required to install them." Although not driven by the demands of the 1995 Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) Darts Farm Shopping Village have decided to install platform lifts so that customers, including those with impaired mobility, can access all floors within the complex easily and safely.
The DDA requires progressive improvements in the way that all owners of shops, offices, buildings and public facilities make provision for people who have a disability to gain access to their premises.
Introduced in 1995, the Act has required building occupiers and owners to begin making provision for disabled people since October 1999 and to be fully compliant by October 2004.
