Gartec's Managing Director, Curt Falk, said: "Virgin Megastore's put a high priority on comfort and convenience for all their customers.
They want to ensure all members of the public coming in to their stores can easily access all floors within the building and chose Gartec disabled platform lifts to achieve this.
We're in the process of installing a Gartec lift in every Virgin Megastore in the country and our latest installation has been in the Cathedral City of Canterbury.
To ensure shoppers are not inconvenienced in any way Gartec engineers began work at 6pm on Friday night after the store had closed, finishing at 8am the next morning ready for the store to start normal trading.
The result is that the Canterbury Megastore now has a disabled platform lift that is modern in design and finished in an attractive silver colour scheme to match the internal decor.
The 2-stop lift is fully flexible, with concealed automatic door openers and its high build quality and dependable operating drive enable the lift to be self-contained within its own glazed structure.
No separate shaft or machine room was required and virtually no building work was needed to install it".
