Geberit new large diameter copper
fittings
Geberit adds to its already extensive Mapress copper range with the launch of its large diameter copper fittings.
The new fittings come in four diameters - 66.7, 76.1, 88.9 and 108mm and include couplings, elbows, tees and reducers, making a total of 84 new products The large diameter copper fittings also have a smaller cubic volume than competitors' products which means that, although they are the same fitting diameter, they can be installed in smaller areas

Geberit's new large diameter copper fittings, like all Mapress fittings, use Geberit's simple press connection system.
Another advantage of Geberit's copper fittings is that, unlike other manufacturers', Geberit's pressing collars are useable across the entire Mapress range, so existing collars from the Mapress carbon steel and stainless steel range can be used with the new copper fittings.
Geberit collars also do not require any lubrication.
Pressfitting although a relatively new method of jointing, is fast becoming the preferred method with typical reduction in installation time of up to 50% when compared to traditional threaded steel jointing systems.
This is largely due to the fact that no hot works are needed, allowing several tradesmen to work at the same time.
Pressfitting also does not require the use of sealants, tapes, fluxes or solder (or hot works permit) and is therefore much cleaner, and safer to use.
