Safe environments come first.
Gerflor flooring has been used extensively at Airedale Hospital where the need for a flexible homogeneous floorcovering was essential for a refit of some of the wards.
"We upgraded the wards as part of an annual refit and used Mipolam Esprit 500 for the main floors as well as Tarasafe Ultra for all wet or potentially wet areas," explains Kevin Narey, Senior Building Officer at the hospital Durability, ease of cleaning and its 'A' grade Green Guide rating were the main reasons behind the specification of Esprit 500, but, importantly, the flooring also offered fungicidal and anti-bacterial properties which were vitally important in the hospital's active infection control initiatives

British Paralympic Association boosted by Gerflor
Leading sports flooring specialist, Gerflor, has selected the British Paralympic Association as the chosen charity which will benefit from all sorts of fundraising activities in 2006.
Available in both tile and sheet format for maximum versatility, Mipolam Esprit 500 has a non-directional, multi-tonal design incorporating coloured chips which are dyed prior to being added to the raw mixture.
This ensures a completely even and fast colour throughout the thickness of the product and gives a consistent and long lasting aesthetic appeal to add to the protective and functional properties of the flooring.
The HSE-compliant Tarasafe Ultra safety flooring was selected for its high visual appeal and SparClean low-maintenance surface treatment.
Various contractors were used for the actual laying of the floor and Gerflor technical representatives were constantly on hand to advise when the need arose.
This installation complements another six wards which, over the past few years, have all been completely fitted out with Gerflor sheet flooring systems.
Gerflor has now been awarded the BRE 'A' rating for its Mipolam range, confirming the low environmental impact of this leading brand of commercial floorcovering.
As well as demanding that products are recyclable, the BRE rating system checks processes during manufacturing, including air and water pollution, energy use, the environmental impact of materials and carbon emission levels. Request a free brochure from Gerflor ...
