GE Lighting launch of its T5 CovRguard lamp to meet requirements retail industry where a broken lamp tube could have serious consequences.

Safety is a key issue in certain environments such as retail outlets, warehouses and distribution centers, grocery stores and restaurants where a broken lamp tube could have serious consequences.

GE Lighting meets these requirements with the launch of its T5 CovRguard lamp.

Part of GE's T5 linear fluorescent lamp range, the new T5 CovRguard is the latest generation of high efficiency, high output, triphosphor coated tubes to be developed by GE.

Promising the optimum in performance, light quality and energy reduction, the T5 CovRguard was designed under a 6 Sigma quality program to ensure the superiority of the product design and to meet growing market demands.

This product adds a shield to the T5 tubes for reinforced shatter resistance with a 0.38 millimetre thick Lexan plastic shield.

This will contain glass fragments and phosphors if a lamp is broken.

T5 CovRguard lamps are available in three different wattages: 24, 39 and 54 and come in five colour temperatures with an industry standard CRI of 85.

Life performance remains high with the T5 CovRguard offering an average rated life of 30,000 hours.
