Gleeds completes Police Treatment Centre works

A Gleeds product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Jan 14, 2010

Gleeds has completed its work as Project and Cost Manager, Building Surveyor and CDM Coordinator on the Police Treatment Centre refurbishment.

The Centre at St Andrews, Harrogate comprises one, two and three storey buildings, with the majority of Gleeds' work involving the creation of a single storey extension, which is now complete.

The Police Treatment Centres is a charity and the extensive project is being funded entirely by charitable donations and benefited from over GBP1m of funding from The Home Office.

This was the first contribution of its kind for the organisation and was announced by Jacqui Smith MP at the Police Federation Conference earlier in the year.

The facility has since attracted the attention of the local media including the BBC who recently broadcast a news storey about the work that is underway.

Commenting on the ongoing works, Michael Baxter, chief executive of the Police Treatment Centre said: "We are tremendously grateful to Gleeds for delivering this project on time and to budget, and also for their success in minimising the impact of this extensive refurbishment on our staff and patients".
