Architectural features company Good Directions fitted crowning glory to Mosque in Oxford.

Good Directions were appointed by Kingerlee Building Contractors, the lead developers, to design, manufacture and install a richly adorned minaret structure on top of the mosque After meeting with Kingerlee Building Contractors and surveying the development, Good Directions then produced a comprehensive design and implementation strategy, which contained a number of key structural elements

The dome for the main minaret was made from glass reinforced polyester (GRP) and was finished in polychromatic copper bronze, accompanied by 4 smaller octagonal minarets with dome roofs fitted with spike finials.

A further crown dome for the main building roof was also developed featuring an ornate crescent moon finial.

All the designs were devised in accordance with the religious requirements and symbolism associated with Mosque designs.

The entire project plan and implementation took just over 4 months but the actual installation took place within a week.

"We were extremely pleased with the expertise, service and attention to detail offered by Good Directions," said Tom Gomm, Contracts Manager for Kingerlee Building Contractors.

"They were extremely helpful throughout and met our exact expectations at the right price".

Founded in 1989, Good Directions design and manufacture a range of architectural features at their premises in Hampshire, including external clocks, roof turrets, GRP structures and copper weathervanes.
