Gradus Helps College Keep New Interiors Clean
Topguard, the heavy duty primary entrance matting, from Gradus, has been specified for St Pauls Catholic College, which needed a high performance entrance matting solution.
Gradus carpets and stair edgings were fitted as a combined interior solution, to meet HICC's requirements for aesthetically pleasing, hard-wearing flooring solutions that could cope with the high volume of people who attend the church on a weekly basis.
Syrah carpet, in Tropicana (a rich green with blends of pale terracotta and navy blue) was installed on all four floors of the building, in circulation areas and on the stage.
Syrah was also specified in the creche area of the church, in Riptide (a vibrant blue, with indigo and yellow blends) with the added benefit of impervious backing to protect the sub-floor from spillages.

In addition, Gradus Genus carpet, in Winter Fjord (a vivid blue, with a blend of grey and black) was installed in all of the offices within the building.
Both carpet ranges offered HICC the benefits of durability and ease of maintenance, combined with high levels of styling.
Being 100% solution dyed, the carpets are colourfast and fade resistant.
Each carpet shade and design was selected to complement HICC's subtle grey and green colour scheme and create a restful ambiance within the centre.
Double channel aluminium stair edgings with slip-resistant inserts in Nutmeg, a soft mid brown, were installed on all staircases in the circulation areas and around the edge of the stage to provide a total contrast to the Syrah carpet.
The stair edgings were also fitted on the wooden staircases, with dark brown coffee inserts and in areas restricted to clergy, with Spice inserts, a rich terracotta, to add warmth to the overall colour scheme.
Suitable for heavy traffic applications, the stair edgings were installed to define the step edge, help protect the edges of adjoining floorcoverings from becoming worn and damaged, and help reduce the risk of slip accidents on stairs.
Commenting on the installation, Dr Michael Carr, Senior Pastor of Harrow International Christian Centre, said: "The new centre required carpets and flooring solutions that offered ease of maintenance, in terms of cleaning and durable materials for an increased product lifespan".
"We also required colours and designs that were aesthetically pleasing and the Syrah Tropicana design particularly met our requirements for a restful colour, with non-combative connotations." Gradus offers an extensive range of flooring accessory products including stair edgings, floor trims and skirtings as well as barrier matting, step and aisle lighting as well as wall protection, contract carpets and upholstery and soft furnishing fabrics.
The one-stop-shop approach enables the interior finishes manufacturer to meet the requirements of a whole host of environments from healthcare and education to commercial and leisure.
