Gradus Stair Edgings Follow ADM Guidelines
Gradus has launched a range of new stair edgings to meet the guidelines published in the Building Regulations Approved Document M (ADM).
The new option incorporates a PVC slip resistant insert on both the tread and riser, providing a single solid band of colour when ascending and descending the stairs to meet guidelines in Approved Document M (ADM2004) and BS8300:2001 that relate to dimension and step edge definition.
ADM5 is suitable for use in all public buildings and is available with a choice of inserts to enable it to be used in both interior and exterior environments.
The innovative AVR5020 is a unique aluminium floor trim specifically designed as a solution for repairing resilient floorcoverings, where welded joins have failed.

Fabrics from Gradus have been fitted at the Willows Nursing Home, Chester, providing a home from home feel to the interior, whilst still meeting performance and safety requirements.
The profile is installed utilising strips of the same floorcovering as an insert to provide an unobtrusive repair.
Available in a 2mm gauge, AVR5020 is intended as a repair solution but can also be specified and installed at door interfaces to offer a more robust transition.
AVR5020 is particularly suited to environments that endure heavy wheeled and pedestrian traffic, such as education and healthcare.
The Photoluminescent stair edging inserts are available in a single colour to provide step definition in temporary dark conditions.
The inserts provide an after glow effect and require a light source to charge the photoluminescent properties in order for them to work effectively.
The insert colour must provide a suitable colour contrast with the surrounding flooring under in normal light conditions to meet ADM 2004 guidelines.
Given a Class A Photoluminescent Safety Product Association (PSPA) classification, the insert will also meet the British Standard BS5266-6:1999 Emergency Lighting when installed with the correct lighting conditions.
Helping to meet health and safety guidelines, Photoluminescent Inserts are ideal for interior applications, which are regularly dimly lit such as bars and fire escape staircases to safely guide people through and out of the building.
