Gradus Helps College Keep New Interiors Clean
Topguard, the heavy duty primary entrance matting, from Gradus, has been specified for St Pauls Catholic College, which needed a high performance entrance matting solution.
The large-scale renovation project involved the installation of a new hand railing system, ramps and stair edgings throughout the whole campus, allowing the college to meet their duties under the DDA and provide an inclusive environment for all users.
The products were specified by Andrew Lefley, Director of Facilities at the college who selected Gradus Elite aluminium ramped stair edgings with Jet (black) inserts.
Up to 600 metres of stair edgings were fitted onto beige terrazzo staircases throughout the campus buildings to replace the previous worn out step edges.

Great Strands for Weston House
Gradus Fabrics have been fitted throughout Weston House, a new transitional care hotel at Great Ormond Street Hospital.
Mr Lefley chose the black insert because it was important to provide a high colour contrast to the beige terrazzo stairs to meet health and safety guidelines by defining the step edge.
The stair edgings fitted throughout also boast concealed screw fixings, as the insert is fitted on-site after the channel is screwed to the floor, providing a safe, secure fixing with a neater and more aesthetically pleasing finish than traditional stair edgings.
Mr Lefley commented on the project; With a high number of people coming through the college on a regular basis, it is vital that as a college we meet legislative guidelines as well as specifying durable products to help reduce on-going maintenance and replacement costs.
Gradus was chosen because they provided a good range of products to suit these needs.
Gradus Esplanade Plus primary barrier matting with 6000 wipers in Nightfall (black) with PVC hinges was also installed to remove moisture before entering the main part of the building.
The dark colour was specified to help hide the walked in dirt, whilst also meeting the aesthetic needs of the neutral interior.
