Gradus has extended its range of barrier matting with the launch of Esplanade 1500 primary matting, for use in interior areas subject to medium to heavy volumes of pedestrian and wheeled traffic.
Suitable for use in 18mm matwells, the Esplanade 1500's design reduces the visibility of the aluminium, making the matting more aesthetically pleasing whilst maintaining its functional properties This softer look makes Esplanade 1500 ideal for use in retail, school and office applications

Esplanade 1500 comprises of an aluminium base that incorporates polypropylene wiper strips, which are ideal for optimum soil and moisture retention.
The base is supported by rigid PVC-u bridging strips and linked using flexible pvc hinges.
The bridging strips provide the mat with stability in the matwell, and help eliminate the 'rattle' that can affect many rigid frame aluminium mats.
Esplanade 1500 is available in three construction options, open, closed and scraper and with a choice of four wiper colours, Tempestus, a deep metallic black, charcoal grey Calculus as well as Marinus in refreshing blue or Terra, a natural brown shade.
Following the Gradus SystemMatics approach, Esplanade 1500 can be used in conjunction with Boulevard 1500 secondary barrier carpet, to provide a fully co-ordinated barrier matting system.
Gradus SystemMatics provides the optimum solution to matting in terms of cost effectiveness, functionality and appearance.
Accessories Marketing Manager at Gradus, Lynette Bowden comments: " With Esplanade 1500, Gradus has taken a slightly different approach".
"Reducing the amount of visible aluminium means the barrier matting retains the hard wearing qualities of primary matting but has a look more akin to carpet, making it an attractive alternative for retail, education and healthcare environments".
"The ability to co-ordinate Esplanade 1500 primary barrier matting with our secondary barrier carpet provides the specifier and end user with a choice of matting to suit both budget and performance requirements".
Esplanade 1500 meets The Building Regulations 2000 - Approved Document M and BS8300:2001 guidelines, helping specifiers and building owners meet their obligations under the Disability Discrimination Act.
