Gradus provides wall protection at Newcastle RVI

Gradus has supplied a comprehensive wall protection system throughout the New Victoria Wing at the Royal Victoria Infirmary (RVI) in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne.

The installation of the system has helped to create a hygienic, safe and aesthetically pleasing environment for patients, staff and visitors.

The Gradus wall protection solution has been installed throughout corridors, waiting rooms, service areas and main atrium at the hospital.

The Gradus system comprises: floor rails and corner guards in stainless steel; black rubber E-fender wall guards; PVC-U handrails, wall guards, bed protectors, corner guards, Sanparrel sheets and rubrails, all in Dolphin grey.

The system is designed to offer protection to decor in all areas of the hospital.

It protects from impact and abrasion caused by wheeled and pedestrian traffic, which in turn helps to prevent the build up of germs and bacteria in damaged surfaces.

The wall protection also helps to reduce ongoing repair and maintenance costs, as well as improve the long term appearance of the interior environment.

Gradus also supplied matting from its Esplanade range for installation at the main atrium's revolving doors.

This reduces tracked in dirt and moisture from pedestrian and wheeled traffic.

XT stair edgings were also installed on all staircases to reduce the risk of trips, slips and falls.

Floorcoverings were supplied for the office areas and selected consulting rooms, and step and aisle lighting was installed in the Medicinema.
