Gradus flooring is installed at Jersey airport

A Gradus Group product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Jul 9, 2010

Jersey Airport's departure lounge is ready for take off, thanks to the installation of carpet tiles and trims from Gradus.

The redevelopment of Jersey Airport's departure lounge has seen the facility benefit from an upgraded restaurant and bar, three new shops and an extended duty free area.

The departure lounge has nearly doubled in size and the refurbishment is part of plans to improve Jersey's main airport in time for its 75th anniversary in 2012.

Gradus' Cityscene carpet tiles in Ice (blue) were installed in the departure lounge seating area.

As well as complementing the contemporary interior, the design tiles also provide an easy to maintain and hardwearing flooring surface, ideal for areas subject to high traffic volumes.

In addition, Clip-Top transition strips and Trans-Edge heavy-duty floor trims were installed throughout the departure lounge to provide a smooth transition between the resilient flooring on walkways and the carpeted areas.

This helps to prevent trips, protect floorcoverings and aids access for wheeled traffic, such as luggage trolleys, pushchairs and wheeled suitcases.

Available in nine contemporary colours, Cityscene tiles can be installed in quarter turn, broadloom or brick bond, creating a variety of design options.

Clip Top and Trans-edge profiles are part of a wide range of floor trim solutions offered by Gradus to provide a safe transition between floorcoverings.
