Innovative UK-made building product - the Gripple Hanger - has been given the thumbs-up by a major Australian construction and engineering appraisal group.

CSIRO's building product-proving organisation, CSIRO Appraisals, has validated the revolutionary way to support services such as ducting, cable trays, pipes, lights and ceilings Cooper Tools Ltd, of Albury, New South Wales, distributes the Gripple Hanger, manufactured by Gripple Ltd, of The Old West Gun Works, Savile Street East, Sheffield

Paul Stevens, Key Accounts Manager with Cooper Tools said: "Gripple Hangers provide a fast, strong and lightweight solution for hanging electrical, HVAC and pipework services.

Consisting of a wire strand cable with a loop at one end and a wedging Gripple used to adjust the cable length needed to support the service, they have been used on a number of significant construction projects." Bob Forster, from rpb2 Marketing Ltd, Sydney, Gripple's associate company in Australia, said: "To be validated by such an independent and authoritative organisation as CSIRO is a huge boost and enhances the ever-growing reputation of the Gripple Hanger.

Gripple Hangers have been have been used on major construction projects worldwide covering industrial buildings, distribution centres, warehouses, offices, schools and hospitals.

They are part of a family of products developed by the fast-growing Gripple organisation, which was formed in 1988.

It has sold in excess of 130 million products worldwide, available in more than 50 countries.

The Gripple, used initially in agriculture and subsequently viticulture, has been developed and adapted into a hanging system for the industrial and construction markets.
